Our Sunday morning schedule:
Bible study: 10:00
Worship service: 11:00
(The church service usually ends close to 12:00 noon, but we might go a little longer on occasion. )
The First Sunday Evening service is held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the first Sunday evening of each month.
Church Services
We hold services every Sunday morning, and on the first Sunday evening of the month. We also have services for special occasions and events, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Good Friday. In the future, we would like to have services every Sunday evening, as well as a prayer and praise meeting on Wednesday evenings.
Church services are designed to help us grow in our faith and in the way we live out the Christian life. They include music (usually both traditional hymns and contempary praise and worship choruses), special music (choir, solos, or small groups), prayer, giving our gifts back to God, reading the Bible, and hearing a sermon which explains the Bible passage and helps us to apply it to our lives today. We almost always laugh at least once in the service.
If you are visiting ...
We know it can be uncomfortable or just plain frightening to walk into a church service and not know what to expect. We try to keep our church services simple and friendly. If someone does the wrong thing, it's not a big deal. We get to laugh when the pastor does the wrong thing! People should wear comfortable clothes. Some people like to wear more formal clothes to church, and others wear more casual clothes. Either one is OK.
The words to the songs are either in the hymnal (page numbers are in the bulletin) or in the bulletin. We know that the first time you hear a song, it will be hard for you to sing along. If you know the song, please feel free to sing with us, but if you don't know it, perhaps you can softly hum along and follow the words.
Our offering is voluntary, and no one should feel pressured to give. It is a time for us to give back to God some of the resources that He has given to you. If you don't want to give anything, just pass the offering plate to the person next to you. Church members and regular attenders give in order to support the work of the church.
